Area of Production

The Island of Sant’Antioco.


Produced on the vine with a tree population density of 6.000 vinestocks/hectare, yield 5t/hectare, low-lying hilly position, sandy earth, Mediterranean climate.


Red, with a maceration of 14 days at a temperature of 28 °C. Re ned in oak barrels for 24 months then further refinement in the bottle for at least 6 months.


Very intense ruby red, with a tendency towards garnet, the longer the refinement period.


Intensely winey and persistently ethereal with spicy notes of vanilla and typical Mediterranean maquis aromas.


Dry, amply sapid yet harmoniously intense with a persistent, solid structure.

Serving Suggestions

Roast or braised red meat, wild game, mature cheeses.


This wine can withstand long periods of re nement in the bottle at cool temperatures, away from sunlight.

Serving Temperature

We suggest removing the cork at least 30 minutes before tasting.

Áina, in the local “tabarchino” dialect means sand, an element that characterises the prevalent terrain on the island of Sant’Antioco.
